Dibbern Solid Color

Clear, reduced, colorful: Solid Color is the legendary Dibbern porcelain with colored edges. As a colored new edition of a form from the Bauhaus period, it helped Dibbern achieve its international breakthrough in the 1980s. This collection has been produced in Germany since the beginning. Currently, 50 colors from sunny yellow to vintage blue can be combined as desired to create individual tableware variations. High-quality hard porcelain meets the colorful interpretation of a purist classic.

With the Solid Color series, you can set aesthetic highlights on laid tables in private homes, businesses and restaurants. Explore the color variety of our timeless design classic and find the matching tableware for a stylish table setting.

Solid Color – a form with history

The creative foundation of the Dibbern Solid Color series is the legendary "Form 98" from the 1930s. The design in Bauhaus style was created by the ceramist Herrmann Gretsch for the hotel industry - international recognition followed with a gold medal at the Triennale di Milano in the 1940s. In 1983 Bernd Dibbern reawakened the famous crockery form from its slumber.

Featuring modern, full-surface colors, the new tableware quickly became an insider tip among architects and designers and won its first prize as early as 1984: the Design Plus Prize at the Frankfurt Trade Fair. Many other awards for the Solid Color series followed, rewarding the aesthetic-functional design and the underlying handicraft that distinguishes every single piece in the collection. The colorful new edition of the reduced design still enjoys cult status today.
