Fine Bone China – the history of the highest quality porcelain
Porcelain, the most valuable of all ceramic products. Precious and fascinating. Materials with mysterious magic, in which hardness and elegance, brilliance and transparency unite. For more than a thousand years it has shaped and accompanied human culture in ever new forms and colors. And enchants its owners. For centuries the materials from which the princes dined came from China. The materials and manufacture were a closely guarded secret there. Then, in 1708, porcelain was produced in Germany for the first time.
The term bone china comes from England. This special porcelain consists of kaolin, quartz sand, feldspar and burnt bone ash, which makes the material appear delicate and transparent. Calcium phosphate contained in the bone ash gives our fine bone china collection its extraordinary density and strength in addition to its filigree appearance. Aesthetics thus meet maximum stability. Fine Bone China is the perfected further development of the classic bone china.
Dibbern's Fine Bone China manufactory
The first private porcelain factory was founded in 1814 in Hohenberg, Bavaria, by Carolus Magnus Hutschenreuther. This factory was reopened by Dibbern in 1997. The traditional art of producing fine ceramics is continued here at the highest level.
More than 100 employees create a wide variety of series in elaborate stages of work, from the first model, through turning and smoothing to firing with the greatest of craftsmanship. The result is timeless collections such as Classic, Pure, Fine Dining or Conical-Cylindrical in pure white and with unique patterns. Applied by hand, the patterns impress with their radiant luminosity, which is due to the extraordinary transparency of the material.
Whereas many mass producers of porcelain are satisfied with fast isostatic pressing, Dibbern still traditionally turns or casts all individual parts by hand. The result is a significantly higher material density, which makes Dibbern Fine Bone China exceptionally light and equally stable: our collection has 7 times the edge impact strength of comparable products. This not only makes us proud, but also convinces our customers from top international restaurants and hotels who have relied on our Fine Bone China series for many years.
In times of industrial mass production our customers appreciate what Dibbern can offer them: quality and durability. Our products are the result of high standards, traditional values and care, which determine the daily work of all employees at the porcelain factory.
The appreciation of the collection is reflected in the great trust placed in it by leading hoteliers and restaurateurs from Berlin to Beijing. Our porcelain enjoys cult status: renowned addresses such as the Federal Chancellery, Lufthansa First Class and the Bulgari Hotel Beijing set their tables with our Fine Bone China. Because Dibbern Fine Bone China convinces where puristic aesthetics and unsurpassed quality merge.

Responsibility for people and nature
As careful and demanding as we are in the production of our collections, we also dedicate ourselves to the responsible protection of people and nature. This commitment is reflected in the exclusive production of our porcelain series in Germany and our continuous expansion with sustainable production methods.
Our employees benefit from an attractive working environment, fair wages that go beyond piecework and a committed promotion of young talent. The sparing use of resources is an integral part of the entire production cycle at the Dibbern factory: all the products we use are manufactured according to EU standards, are environmentally friendly and free of harmful substances such as lead or cadmium. The heat of our ovens is used for heating and drying, water is recycled with the help of a treatment plant, raw materials and glazes are recycled and porcelain breakage is then passed on to industry. For porcelain that not only pleases people but also the environment.
Our porcelain collections are dishwasher and microwave proof. After ordering you have 14 days right of return as well as the possibility of free return shipping.
